Cadet Student Teacher Program is a semester or year long course, offered to eleventh and twelfth grades students who are interested in the Education and Training Career Pathway. Enrollment gives the student exposure to elementary and/or middle school instructors and students, in an unpaid work based setting. Students acquire a general insight into: the organization and management of the classroom; the assessment and diagnosis of individual education needs; the planning of teaching strategies; the selection of available materials and equipment; and evaluating and reporting student progress. The experience includes enrollment in an on-line course (Introduction to Education) which may/may not be taken for college credit.
Enrollment in this course will give eleventh and twelfth grade students exposure to a wide array of health careers,and the experience of being in a health care facility (Box Butte General Hospital), as an unpaid worker. Students will acquire a general insight into: the organization and management of a health care facility; the assessment and diagnosis of individual patient health care needs; and the patient care and services provided in a health care facility. Students will be assigned to, and under the direct supervision of, a health care professional at Box Butte General Hospital. Students will report to the hospital for two class periods each day school is in session,during the semester.
